6) What the second death is

Next, we are going to find out what the second death is.

Also, “the second death” means the casting into the eternal lake of fire upon judgment (Rev 19:20/Rev 20:14-15), which is from Revelation 20:15, so not being hurt of the second death (Rev 21:8) means that those who die in the Lord after obeying him until death, overcoming trials and fulfilling the words of his prophecies (Rev 14:13) directly go to the third heaven, which is the paradise, to receive the blessings of eternal life and resurrection.

Therefore, those who are saved and die in the Lord transcend death and reach God’s paradise, the third heaven. However, those who cannot and are spiritually dead initially await in hell and face the final judgment of the white throne. If one does not become written in the book of life upon this judgment, he or she will be thrown into the eternal lake of fire burning with brimstone. This is the second death.

<Rev 20:11-15>
11 And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them.
12 And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.
13 And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works.
14 And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.
15 And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.

<Rev 20:6>
6 Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years.

<Rev 21:5-8>
5 And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful.
6 And he said unto me, It is done. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely.
7 He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son.
8 But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.

Here, the way not to be hurt of the second death is through the testimony of salvation in which, without going to Hell and being thrown into the lake of fire, we become the brides of Jesus and participate in the resurrection of the holy body (Lk 10:19-20).
