7stars-s copy   To the church in Ephesus <Rev 2:1-7>

1. Unto the angel of the church of Ephesus write; These things saith he that holdeth the seven stars in his right hand, who walketh in the midst of the seven golden candlesticks;

2. I know thy works, and thy labour, and thy patience, (Heb 4:12-13) and how thou canst not bear them which are evil: (2Th 2:9-12) and thou hast tried them which say they are apostles, (2Co 11:13-15) and are not, and hast found them liars: (Ac 20:29-31)

3. And hast borne, and hast patience, and for my name’s sake hast laboured, and hast not fainted.

4. Nevertheless I have somewhat against thee, because thou hast left thy first love.
(1Jn 3:10-12/Mt 24:10-12)

5. Remember therefore from whence thou art fallen, and repent, and do the first works; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will remove thy candlestick out of his place, except thou repent. (Jer 26:4-6)

6. But this thou hast, that thou hatest the deeds of the Nicolaitanes, (Rev 2:14-16) which I also hate.

7. He that hath an ear, (Jn 14:16-17/Jn 15:26-27/Jn 16:7-14) let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; (Lk 14:34-35) To him that overcometh (Rev 17:14) will I give to eat of the tree of life, which is in the midst of the paradise of God.
(2Co 12:2-4/Ge 3:22-24/Pr 11:30)

The members of the Church in Ephesus not only revealed the deceivers who belong to Satan but also worked hard and patiently to shine the name of Jesus. Most importantly, however, they lost the first love and the things they did at first, showing a situation of imminent danger in which, without repenting, the lampstand of God would be removed from its place.
